Drew Jones of Henscratch Farms Vineyard & Winery was the speaker when the Lake Placid Garden Club hosted its October meeting at the Woman’s Club building on North Main Avenue. Jones offered samples of the new red and white wines now being introduced at Henscratch Farms. He said the farm also offers jams, jellies, pickles, fresh eggs and, during season, U-pick berries.
There were 37 members and three guests at the meeting, which was led by President Alice Stahr. Following a catered lunch of chicken salad with the trimmings and pumpkin pie, First Vice President Marsha Browning introduced Jones. President Stahr then spoke on the Coral Reef Restoration Project, Certificated Wildlife Habitat, and the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc.
