Carol Kelly, RN, will be at the Placid Lakes Town Hall on March 27 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and will conduct free blood pressure screenings. She will also offer information pertaining to disease education, and armchair exercises for the elderly and handicapped. The Litter Patrol will be out and about Saturday. We will supply the grabbers, gloves, bags and safety vests and will meet at 8 a.m. at the Town Hall. This is all volunteer, and we welcome any and all of you to help keep Placid Lakes “clean and green.”
March 13 is the date of the first-ever Pioneer meeting at the Placid Lakes Country Club. Call Bonnie at 863-465-4888 to register. You are in charge of getting the wheels turning on this group. The meeting is scheduled for 11:30 a.m., if you have any memorabilia from your early days, be sure to bring it along. Lake Placid Ballroom Dancers will be celebrating St. Paddy’s Day on March 15 with “Wearing of the Green” at the Elks Lodge with dancing starting at 6:30 p.m. We have several “Leprechauns” right here in Placid Lakes who will be invading that night.
Spotted a “Painted Bunting” this past week, the colors are unbelievable! Robins are still here, there are some weird stories about their winter nesting habits which are hard to believe. They say don’t believe everything you hear, good advice.
