Reservations for the dinner theater production “Mid-Life Crisis” on June 11 are filling up fast. Call Joyce Briski at 863-699-6331 to reserve your spot. Reservations are to be paid by May 15. We changed our seating to the fourth row instead of the front row as it is much better for the neck.
The Dalton Gang will meet May 1 at the Placid Lakes Country Club at 4 p.m.
The Fourth of July dinner cruise out of Fishermen’s Village at Port Charlotte will have a big change this year. The tentative plan is that Captain Ralph will host us for a three-hour cruise including a fabulous sunset, food, drinks, cruise around Charlotte Harbor and of course, the fireworks at 9 p.m. This is a change from the past excursions where we’ve had dinner at Fishermen’s Village and a one-hour fireworks cruise in the harbor. Reservations are limited to 20 and sign-up will be at the May meeting. Call Susie Lee at 863-699-0886 for more details.
A paddleboat dinner cruise is in the making. This will also be a three-hour excursion including dinner and dancing along the Caloosahatchee River and the Gulf of Mexico. Reservations are limited to 20. More information will be offered at the May meeting.
Last call for the May 17 Pioneer meeting at the Placid Lakes Country Club at 11:30 a.m.
We are watching the woods for the shadow of the Easter Bunny who may turn up at the Easter Bunny Hop on April 19 at the Lake Placid Elks Lodge after having his day with the kids and the many egg hunts. Lake Placid Ballroom Dancers will sponsor the Easter dance and promises lots of jelly beans for everyone. The dance will be from 6:30 p.m. until 9:00 pm.
This week, the Painted Buntings visited the sanctuary. The Wood-Ducks wasted no time moving into the new house located near the King-Bird estate. The neighbors are getting along better now since they found the new construction.
