Josephine ‘Jo’ Rust

Josephine “Jo” Rust, 85, of Lake Placid, Fla., died late Saturday evening, Aug. 24, 2013, at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Sebring. She was in the care of her son and brother.

A native of New York, she was born Dec. 14, 1927, to Lucy and Salvatore Ruggiero of Brooklyn. A homemaker, Mrs. Rust came to Lake Placid in 1992, from Miami. She was a member of the St. James Catholic Church where she was an active member of the St. James Women’s Club, as well as a member of the American Legion in Lake Placid.

Mrs. Rust is survived by a son, Fred R. (Karen) Rust Jr. ; brothers, Louis and Frank Ruggiero; two grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband,
Fred R. Rust Sr., in 1995.

A Christian graveside service will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lake Placid where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband. Father Louis Pacheco will celebrate.

Funeral arrangements are under the devotion of Michael A. Brochetti Funeral Home, Lake Placid.
