Ruth Charlotte Pedue McKay Rogers

Ruth Charlotte Pedue McKay Rogers, 91, of Winchester, Va. and formerly of Lake Placid, Fla., died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013.

Born Sept. 9, 1921 in Salisbury, Md., to R. Cephia and Laura Perdue of Pocomoke City, Md., she was a graduate of Salisbury Business School. She was employed at Birds Eye in Pocomoke City and was a NASA travel agent at Wallops Island. Mrs. Rogers was a longtime member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Bethany Ladies Club, Soroptomist Club, DAR Chapter Gen. Levin Winder and Ladies of the Elks, all in Pocomoke City and the Lake Placid Woman’s Club.

Mrs. Rogers was preceded in death by husbands S. Kermit McKay in 1997 and Frances C. Rogers in 2011. She is survived by her only child, Kay McKay Ward Rongley and husband Raymond A. of Fairfax, Va.; grandsons Albert N. (Virginia) Ward and Albert N. (Cindy) Ward; granddaughter Elizabeth K. (David) Wiseman; seven great-grandchildren; two nephews and a niece.

Memorial services were Sunday, Sept. 8 at 12:30 p.m. in Bethany United Methodist Church, Pocomoke City.
