Patricia D. Sanidas

Patricia D. Sanidas, 74, of Lake Placid, Fla., passed away Tuesday morning, Oct. 1, 2013, in the companionship of her husband and daughter.

Born Feb. 1, 1939, in Waterlily, W. Va., she was the daughter of Nina and Earl Garbett. Mrs. Sanidas was a homemaker. At a young age she was a high school cheerleader and an avid rollerskater, competing in and winning various tournaments. Mrs. Sanidas was a Lady Shriner, and enjoyed square dancing and bowling. She spent 15-plus years as a volunteer at Leigh Memorial Hospital in Virginia Beach, Va. Mrs. Sanidas came to Lake Placid in 2004 from Hertford, N.C.

Mrs. Sanidas is survived by her husband, Nick Angelo Sanidas; daughters, Monica (Lonnie) Bunch, Tina (Chris) Griffin; a sister, Ramona Bissell; grandchildren John Huffman II, Nikki Thompson; and great-granddaughter Aly Huffman.

A celebration of Mrs. Sanidas’s life was at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Placid Lakes with Pastor Jeff Taylor as celebrant.

Memorial arrangements were under the devotion of Michael A. Brochetti Funeral Home, Lake Placid.
