Flora Belle ‘Flo’ Clement

Flora Belle “Flo” Clement, formerly of Lake Placid, Fla., passed away Friday, Nov. 8, 2013.

A native Floridian, she was born in Brooker in 1917. She grew up in Arcadia where she met Ray Clement, who became her husband of 69 years. They raised their three children in Miami. Upon retirement, Mr. and Mrs. Clement moved to their summer home in Lake Placid and later relocated to Vero Beach.

Mrs. Clement was a charter member of the Miami Shore Baptist Church where she was active in the choir and a frequent soloist. She traveled the world in support of her husband’s business, but treasured her role as matriarch of the Clement family, hosting family gatherings in Lake Placid.

Mrs. Clement was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Larry (Martha); two sisters, Estelle and Freddie; and a brother, Lamar. She is survived by her children, Doug (Anne) and Constance; four grandchildren, Laura Pittman (Matt), Ken Clement, Dale Clement and Carolyn Fedeli (Frank); and five great- grandchildren.

A funeral service will be Saturday, Nov. 23 at 11 a.m. at Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach with Rev. Tracy Claytor of First Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Strunk Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach.

The family asks that memorial contributions be made to VNA Hospice, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL. 32960 in memory of Flo Clement.
