Robert Franklin Taylor

Robert Franklin Taylor, of Lake Placid, Fla., passed away Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014.

Born 90 years ago in Arthur, Ill., he moved to Florida in 1963. Mr. Taylor served in the U.S. Army during WWII, stationed in North Africa, Italy, France, Germany and Austria. He also served in the Navy Reserves for five years in Chicago, Ill. He was honorably discharged from the Army in November 1945 and the U.S. Navy in August 1955. He returned to Europe several times after WWII.

Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, two brothers, and his old friend, Norman Swain.

His wishes were to be in a National Cemetery where the American flag is always flying and he can rest with his WWII friends will come true later this month when he is buried at Sarasota National Cemetery.

Cremation arrangements are entrusted with Scott Funeral Home, Lake Placid.
