Thelma Sessions Edgemon, 89, of Lake Placid, Fla., died Friday evening, Feb 7, 2014.

The daughter of Bertie and W.T. Sessions, she was born, Jan. 15, 1925, in Polk County. A lifelong resident of Lake Placid, Mrs. Edgemon served as Lake Placid Town Clerk for more than 20 years, retiring in the early 1980s. She was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church, Daughters of The Confederacy, Daughters of the American Revolution, and a charter member of the Lake Placid Historical Society.

Mrs. Edgemon is survived by her sons Fred and Carl; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 13 at Memorial United Methodist Church in Lake Placid with funeral services at 11 a.m. Pastor Claude Burnett will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Good Shepherd Hospice, 1110 Hammock Road, Sebring, FL 33870.

Funeral arrangements are under the devotion of Michael A. Brochetti Funeral Home, Lake Placid.
