Doris Olive Ward Lee

Doris Olive Ward Lee, 86, of Lake Placid died Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Tampa General Hospital.

Born Nov. 12, 1927, in Buffalo, N.Y., she was the daughter of Leviana and Floyd Ward. She married Kenneth Lee on April 23, 1949. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Lee and her husband moved to Lake Placid in 1961 and then moved to Lakeland when Mr. Lee was transferred in his position with the United States Postal Service. They returned to their Leisure Lakes home in Lake Placid when Mr. Lee retired in 1981.

Mrs. Lee is survived by her husband; daughter Donna Marie Cannon of Lakeland; son Alan Frank Lee of Hattiesburg, Miss; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great- great-grandchild.

The family received friends Thursday afternoon at Lanier Funeral Home in Lakeland, followed by a brief memorial service.
