Julia Munn Moore, 93, formerly of Lake Placid, died Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at her home in Graceville.
A Celebration of Life service was held Friday, June 27 at First Baptist Church in Graceville with Rev. Stephen Moore and Rev. Tim Folds officiating. Burial was Saturday, June 28, in DeLand.
Mrs. Moore was born July 4, 1921 in Jefferson, the youngest of nine children. While living in Lakeland in the 1940’s, she met her future husband, a chaplain in the U.S. Army Air Corp. After their marriage she served alongside him in his positions as a pastor and Director of Missions in Florida and North Carolina. She lived in Lake Placid from 2000-2010.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, Thomas Franklin and Grover Sullivan Munn; eight brothers and sisters, and son-in-law, Irvin Murrell.
Mrs. Moore is survived by daughter Phoebe Murrell of Graceville; son Philip Moore (Karen) of Thompson’s Station, Tenn; son Stephen Moore (Jean) of Askewville, N.C; grandsons Trey Murrell, Greg Moore, Bryan Moore, David Moore, Mark Moore, Matthew Moore, and Joshua Moore; and 12 great-grandchildren.
