Betty Lou Post, 86, of Lake Placid, died Wednesday, July 2, 2014.
Born Dec. 19, 1927 in Lansing, Mich., she went to work at an early age as a line person for Redmans, a manufacturer of electric motors for the B-29 fighter planes. She then worked as a nurse’s aide at Owosso Hospital in Michigan and then at Woodards as a sales representative for a furniture manufacturer. Mrs. Post had been a resident of Lake Placid for the past 25 years. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church, American Legion and VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed doll collecting and making dolls as well as dancing to the Big Band Era music.
Mrs. Post is survived by her husband Jack, whom she wed Aug. 2, 1946; children Dan, Clifford, and Gladys; siblings Morris, Marlene and Maureen; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A Christian Memorial Mass will be held at a later date at St. James Catholic Church. Memorial arrangements are under the devotion of Michael A. Brochetti Funeral Home, Lake Placid.
