Lillian M. McNeeley, 81, of Lake Placid died Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at her residence, surrounded by her family.

Born Dec. 6, 1932 in Pulaski, Va. to Ellen Marie and Stanley G. Tippet, she had been a resident of Lake Placid since 1989, moving from Moore Haven after previously residing in Orlando. Mrs. McNeeley was a member of the Lake Placid Red Hat Society, TOPS, United Methodist Women, and Memorial United Methodist Church in Lake Placid. She enjoyed square dancing and gardening and spending time with family and friends.

Mrs. McNeeley is survived by her husband of 62 years, Donald Sr.; daughters Debra Marie Diender (Michael), Janet Burton (Steve) and Judy Brim (Bill); a son, Donald McNeeley Jr. (Nancy); nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a sister, Rhodella Gills.

A service to celebrate Mrs. McNeeley’s life was Saturday July 12 at Memorial United Methodist Church, Lake Placid, with Rev. Tim Haas officiating. A private burial was at Glen Haven Memorial in Winter Park. The family suggests donations in Mrs. McNeeley’s memory to Good Shepherd Hospice Somers House, 1110 Hammock Road Sebring, FL 33870.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted with Scott Funeral Home, Lake Placid.
