The clerk at an Avon Park convenience store was shot and wounded Wednesday, Aug. 14 during a 10:30 p.m. robbery. The unidentified clerk was taken to an area medical center and is expected to survive, according to a press
release from the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office.
HCSO deputies said the robber demanded money and the clerk opened the cash drawer and gave cash to the subject. The clerk was then shot by the robber who fled the scene.
