The Lake Placid Lady Dragon bowlers played a strong match against the Riverdale Raiders of Fort Myers Thursday, Oct. 24, at Bowland in Lehigh Acres. The Lady Dragons helped themselves to an eight-point win. This was the second time this season these two teams had faced each other with Lake Placid’s girls finishing on top both times. High scores were delivered by seniors Kaylee Diefendorf who rolled a 170 with only two open frames as well as Savannah Connolly who had 195 with only one open frame.
Unfortunately things did not go so well for the Dragon boys. Although they had 2272 total pins, 58 more than the Raiders, the Lake Placid boys did not have enough game wins to match Riverdale and the Raiders won by two points. High scores for Lake Placid were registered by senior Kenny Sides, 212 (clean game) and freshman Patrick Perez, 198 and 191.
The Dragon bowlers traveled to Stuart Lanes Monday, Oct. 28, for districts. Results will be in next week’s Journal.
