• The Lake Placid Youth baseball/softball organization meets Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 6 p.m. in the upstairs above the concession stand at Lake June Park. The purpose of the meeting is to review, recommend and vote on proposed additions to the bylaws. All members, parents, coaches and volunteers are encouraged to attend. • Lake Placid Senior Softball Association is now holding practice sessions preparatory to the 2014 season starting in January. If you are 60 or over and would enjoy reliving your glory days on the diamond, then bring your glove, bat and enthusiasm to the Lake June Ballfields on Wednesdays at 9 a.m. for hitting and fielding practice.

• Lake Placid Youth Football Junior team plays in district tournament action Saturday afternoon, Nov. 2, at approximately 3:30, at Roger Scarborough Memorial Field.

• Pearl Harbor Day Memorial Golf Tournament at Placid Lakes Saturday, Dec. 7. Event includes Silent Auction which includes autographed baseballs by Al Kaline, Harmon Killebrew and Duke Snider. All proceeds benefit local veterans. For more information contact pro-shop at Placid Lakes, 465-1626.
