At a special signing ceremony at Lake Placid High School Monday morning, Nov. 11, Lady Dragon volleyball standout Isabella Caraballo signed a scholarship to play the sport at Daytona State College next season.

Caraballo was one of only two freshman recruits signed by DSC Coach Laura Stegall whose team is loaded with experienced sophomores. “It’s a real honor to be one of those two newcomers on this team.” Caraballo said.

Caraballo leaves a Lake Placid High School team which went 21-6 overall during its season, 8-0 in district play and moved all the way into regional play. Their district championship was Lake Placid’s sixth in the past seven seasons.

“Isabella’s strong play at the net is one of the major reasons we did so well this season,” said Lake Placid’s first-year coach Charlotte Clanton Bauder.
