The Lake Wales City Commission meets at 6 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of each month in the Municipal Administration Building and meets in workshops to discuss complicated issues whenever necessary. Time is set aside at the end of each regular City Commission meeting for comments from members of the public. Commission meetings are televised live on Comcast cable channel 6.

The Lake Wales Public Library hosts two weekly yoga classes. Both are led by Certified Yoga Instructors. Classes meet each Monday and Wednesday, 5:30 to 6:45 pm in the Lake Wales Public Library’s Meeting Room. Wear loose-fitting clothing and bring water if desired. No prior experience is needed. All skill levels are welcome. Class fees are $10 per class, $32 for 4 classes or $60 for 8 classes of instruction. Lake Wales Public Library Open Knitting & Crochet Group - 5:30 – 7 p.m. Knitters and crocheters of all experience levels gather at the LW Public Library each Friday evening for an hour of knitting, crocheting, conversation and support. Open knitting and crochet is free and welcome to all fiber crafters with some experience, very little instruction is provided. Participants in the free open knitting and crochet group may not attend the knitting or crochet classes without paying the class fee.
