The Lake Pierce Baptist Church of Lake Wales will be hosting a Anniversary Celebration weekend on Feb. 22 and Feb. 23. The church requests that the community join them as they commemorate 50 years of God’s faithfulness with a Saturday night gospel sing at 6 p.m. and a Sunday morning celebration service at 10:30 a.m.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd will be the featured speaker for their Sunday morning worship service on Feb. 23 at 10:30 a.m.

Other speakers include former pastors Herbert Durr and John James, and others. Special music and recognition of charter and former members of the church will also be part of the program. Dinner will be provided by the church for those who attend immediately following the celebration service.

On Saturday evening, Feb. 22, the church will host a southern gospel sing featuring The Wine Family (www.thewinefamily.com) from Lake Wales, and The Crossfire Quartet (www.CrossFireQuartet.com) from Lakeland. There is no cost for admission.

Lake Pierce Baptist was started as a mission out of the First Baptist Church of Waverly in 1964. It has been their privilege to serve the Lake Pierce community for the past half century and they say they look forward to even greater ministry and growth over the next 50 years. The church is located in the northeastern section of Lake Wales at 3643 Canal Rd. Contact Pastor K.C. Crum at 863-860-8803, or by email at kc.crum@yahoo.com for more information or directions.
