The Lake Wales Public Library offers the business and adult learner community the opportunity to take community college level continuing education courses on the library’s website, www.cityoflakewales.com/library/ or at http://education.gale.com/l-lwpl/, called Gale Courses.

With funding from the Lake Wales Library Association — Friends of the Library’s Dell Bullard Trust for Vocation Education, a variety of business, recreational and educational courses are available, tuition free, to any Lake Wales Public Library card holder. Dell Bullard was a pioneer businesswoman in Lake Wales, who, along with her husband, Doug Bullard, began an insurance agency that remains part of the Lake Wales business community today. Mrs. Bullard believed in the importance of learning throughout a lifetime; a concept Gale Courses continues to promote, according to the library press release.

Gale Courses offers a wide range of highly interactive, instructor-led courses that you can take entirely online. Library card holders are entitled to these courses at no cost. Courses run for six weeks and new sessions begin every month.

This program allows card holders to enhance their personal and professional skills and to prepare to launch new careers or advance in an existing one, no matter where they are located.

Comprehensive six-week online courses start monthly, and you can work anytime and anywhere that is convenient. Each high-quality course includes comprehensive lessons, quizzes, and a discussion area. Dedicated instructors facilitate every course; pacing learners, answering questions, giving feedback, and facilitating discussions.

Upon successful completion, adult learners are provided with a certificate of completion including the number of continuing education hours awarded.

For information on Gale Courses call, (863) 678-4004, email library@cityoflakewales.com or visit the library’s website, www.cityoflakewales.com/library/.
