I can’t believe what I see happening to our country!

I do not want to be considered or labeled as an intolerant narrow-minded person who’s a bigot full of prejudices against the freedom of action and rights of others. My fellow Americans can live their lives the way they want to pursue liberty and happiness, but some shouldn’t be allowed to defile the meaning of liberty with ‘libertarianism.’

I am very concerned about the future of our present youngsters and specifically what my grandchildren could be learning from their peers and some ‘progressive’ elders. Unfortunately, the new style of life is aiming to make you feel that you can do whatever you want to if you think it’s good and don’t need to worry about any consequences.

It appears the new rules are that the moral principles of the past are obsolete and don’t need to be observed anymore.

It was not too long ago when our elected figures and other health authorities mounted a vigorous campaign against the use of tobacco products in any form: smoke or chew. We were told on a daily basis that smoking was an ugly and harmful habit that was not good for our health and that was the main cause for suffering from lung or throat cancer!

I have not read a single note or heard any comments from authorities claiming that ‘smoking’ marijuana is unhealthy. Why? In the meantime, some defenders of that kind of entertainment (????) claim that it is not more different than having a cocktail or a shot of hard liquor.

Really? As far as I know marijuana is still considered as a drug. Smoking a drug substance? Any reasonable person could consider that as a double whammy! Come on, tobacco is bad for your health but ‘recreational’ marijuana is not?

Is it okay to light up a ‘joint’ but it’s against regulations to smoke a cigarette or a cigar? What does the ACA (Obamacare) rule or dictate in this regard?

Many employers request urine analysis to find out if the applicant for a job uses any kind of drug. Will employers be forbidden to continue that requirement for employment?

Just think about this … would you feel safe knowing that airline pilots are allowed to smoke a recreational ‘joint’ before taking off? Would anyone be arrested because DUI?

I accept that smoking or chewing tobacco is not a good habit but neither should be puffing on marijuana …
