Evelyn Selena “Kitty” MacNab Lopez of Lake Wales, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, at the James A. Haley Veteran’s Hospital in Tampa, Fla., at age 79.
Evelyn was born July 15, 1934, in Flushing, Long Island, N.Y., to Archibald and Evelyn Ferguson MacNab. She arrived in Lake Wales from Miami in 1985 with her then-husband, James Lopez, with whom she co-owned/operated J & E Roofing.
Evelyn was of the Protestant faith and a veteran of Korea, serving in the U.S. Air Force. She was a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader for many years. She loved gardenias and calla lilies, and enjoyed listening to country music singer Patsy Cline.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her first husband, George Perdomo; second husband, Harold F. Peterson; third husband, James Lopez; and brother, Walter Knapp.
Survivors include her brothers, Bill Knapp of Auburn, Ala., and Chester Knapp; sister-in-law, Marie Knapp; five children, Lynne Perdomo Robertson and husband John of Johnson City, Tenn., Bryan Perdomo of Houston, Texas, Brenda Perdomo Trout of Brandon, Patrick Perdomo of Lake Wales and Jill Peterson Manning and husband, Greg, of Winter Haven; 10 grandchildren, David Spungin, Dawn Spungin Starr and husband Cody, Jaime Blount Harrison and husband Joshua, Elizabeth Ryan Perdomo, Aaron Trout and wife Amy Estelle, Elisabeth Trout Rigby and husband Steven, Ashley Maria Perdomo, Austin Jay Simonson, Ryleigh Bryn Manning and Taelynn Claire Manning; and eight great-grandchildren, Riley Maree Starr, Kiersten Leigh Harrison, Joshua Caleb Harrison, Jacob Douglas Harrison, Amaryn Brooke Trout, William Micah Rigby, Wesley Gabriel Rigby and Levi Gideon Rigby.
Committal service is 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
