Jerry L. Cockerham, 61, of Murphy, N.C. (winter resident of Lake Wales, Fla.) passed away Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, at Somers Hospice House in Sebring.

He was born Dec. 31, 1951, in Anderson, Ind., and has been a winter resident of the area for 11 years moving here from Tampa, Fla., where he resided for 59 years.

He was a retired professional truck driver, loved fishing, visiting the flea market, listening to music and spending time with his friends.

He was of the Church of God Faith.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Treva Irene McCreary, and sister, Janalee McBeth.

Survivors include his wife of 11 years, Dorothy E. Cockerham; daughter, Tracy Devonne Tousley of Dallas, Texas; son, Jamason Delitta of St. Pete, Fla.; father, Russell Lowell Cockerham of Deland, Fla.; sister, Gloria and husband, Ronnie Efird, of Deland, Fla.; very special nephew, Michael McBeth; seven grandchildren; special friends, Mrs. Opal, Kelvin, Dale and Bob.

Private services will be held at a later date.
