Edith C. Tuma of Frostproof passed away Monday, March 10, 2014, at the Somers Hospice House in Sebring.

She was 94.

She was born Feb. 7, 1920, in Milford, Conn., to Arthur Wilber and Clara Derby; and she came here from Miami Springs in 1978.

She was a retired bookkeeper, was a member of the Sun Ray United Methodist Church and attended the First Christian Church of Frostproof. She was a Past Matron for the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George N. Tuma and a son, George A. Tuma.

Survivors include her grandsons, Jonathan Tuma and Jason Tuma; nephews, Jay Hoyt, Mickey Hoyt and Richard Derby; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof.

Funeral service is 10 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2014, at the Sun Ray First United Methodist Church with Pastor Curtiss Cain officiating.

Interment will follow at the Florida National Cemetery. For those who wish, donations may be sent to the Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Ave. Auburndale, FL 33823.
