Freddie Maye Dixon, 86, of Lake Wales, Fla., passed away Sunday, May 11, 2014, at Life Care Center of Winter Haven.

She was born Jan. 6, 1928, in Lake Wales, Fla., to the late Mack and Maggie (Stembridge) Gilliam and has been a lifelong resident of the area. She was a retired quality control supervisor in the Citrus Industry. She was a member of New Harvest Worship Center. She was devoted to church and became an ordained minister. She ministered at Grace Healthcare once a month. Her lifelong passion was serving the Lord.

Survivors include her daughters, Margaret (Douglas) Brown of Bartow, Fla., and Mary Hasty of Winter Haven, Fla.; son Perry (Vicki) Batson of Lake Wales, Fla.; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Livingston officiating. Interment will be held at the Lake Wales Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home on Wednesday from 12 p.m. until service time.
