Blondell J. ‘Dell’ Barrett

Blondell J. “Dell” Barrett, 80, of Lake Wales, Fla., passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at the Winter Haven Hospital.

She was born Nov. 14, 1933, in Walden County, Fla., to Erasmus Frank and Bertha (Allen) Jones and had been a resident of the area since 1974, moving here from Virginia Beach, Va. She was a retired secretary for Donald Duck/Citrus World. Dell was a member of the Lake Wales VFW Auxiliary, Moose Lodge and the Elks Lodge, she enjoyed reading, shopping, traveling and the Tampa Bay Bucs and was of the Protestant faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Everett Barrett and daughter, Debbie Barrett.

Survivors include her son, Frank Barrett of Lake Wales; sister, Geraldine Harvard of Lake Wales; brothers, W.F. Jones and wife Brenda of Port St. Lucie, Fla., James E. Jones and wife Margaret of Lake Wales.

No services are scheduled at this time.

Marion Nelson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
