Frostproof outdueled Highlanders in 3-0 soccer win

The Frostproof Bulldogs and Lake Wales Highlanders got ready for district playoff action that starts next week with a non-district matchup last week in Frostproof. The Bulldogs won the physical contest 3-0. Here, Rolando Perez of Frostproof goes after the ball. Perez scored one of the Bulldogs' goals.

Frostproof's Ricky Aguilar, shown between two Lake Wales defenders, had one of his team's three goals in the 3-0 last week in Frostproof. The Bulldogs will host the Class 2A, District 10 soccer playoffs next week at Faris Brannen Stadium.

The Bulldogs won this one, 3-0, and followed that up with a 3-2 win over Hardee late last week to move their record to 9-3-3 this season. Gabriel Vargas had two goals in the win over Hardee, while Rolando Perez added the third score.

It was a physical game as Ricky Aguilar of Frostproof finds out as he fights for a free ball. The Bulldogs defeated the Highlanders, 3-0. Earlier in the season, Frostproof took a 2-1 win over the Highlanders at Legion Field.

There was plenty of action on this ball that was rocketed to the front of the Lake Wales goal. Frostproof did score three times on the night to take the shutout win over the Highlanders last week.
