Late rally keeps Highlander district hopes alive

Lake Wales broke out on top with a run in the bottom of the second, but the visitor's countered with two in the fourth. It stayed that way until the Highlanders erupted for six runs in the bottom of the sixth.

The Highlanders trailed 2-1 going into the sixth inning but erupted for six runs, keyed in large part by a bases-loaded single from Ryan Klingler and a triple from his brother, Russell.

Lake Wales pitcher Bryan Roecker stretches for the catch whole he covers first base as Auburndale's Kyle Panico tries to dive back to the bag. Roecker was strong on the hill, going the distance in getting the win, allowing just four hits and getting eight strikeouts. The win improved Lake Wales to 13-13 on the spring season.
