Irma is no match for the six strong-voiced women who will kick off Venice Theatre’s 2017-2018 Stage II season with “Beehive: The 60s’ Musical.” This rollicking overview of a decade dominated by powerful female performers will be presented in the Pinkerton Theatre through Sunday, Oct. 22. Performances will be at 8 p.m. on Tuesdays through Saturdays at 2 p.m. Sundays.

“Beehive” is a spot-on example of how Venice Theatre’s 2017-2018 season celebrates the American experience. Artistic/Executive Director Murray Chase said, “That experience is as diverse and varied as we are. ‘Beehive’ reminds us how significantly our national experience changed from 1960 to 1969, especially for women.”
