The Venice Institute for Performing Arts will be the host to the Russian Grand Ballet on its first-ever Southwest Florida tour of “Swan Lake” on Saturday, Oct. 14. The show begins at 7 p.m., and the first 30 dance students to sign up will enjoy a meet-and-greet with the prima ballerina post-performance.
Founded by graduates of the great choreographic academies of Moscow, St. Petersburg and Kiev, and steeped in the history of classical Russian ballet, the Russian Grand Ballet has been bringing Russia and Ukraine’s brightest ballet stars, and most beloved full-length classics to audiences around the world since 2005. Under the leadership of award-winning ballet master Andrey Litvinov, the company has expanded to include a cours de ballet of more than 50 dancers, joined each year by renowned guest artists dancing principal roles. This year marks the company’s third North American tour with visits to 60-plus cities across the United States, and the presentation of a masterwork that defines the art form — “Swan Lake.”
