Besides being beautiful creatures, when butterflies are present, that is an indicator of a healthy eco-system.

According to a butterfly conservation website, areas rich in butterflies and moths are also rich in other invertebrates. Collectively, these vertebrates provide a wide range of environmental benefits, including pollination and natural pest control.
