Fresh shrimp and oysters are just a couple of the seafood delicacies to be found at the Venice Seafood & Music Festival.

Here is a copy of this year's block party logo. Also I've seen local band profiles in Let's Go. I'm playing in a new band of local musicians that are going to debut at The Block Party on the West Marion stage, we play a mixture of originals and classic rock covers, so if you are looking for band profiles, we'd like to be added to the list. Thanks Marie and Sherri - Ron

Downtown Punta Gorda will belong to the Punta Gorda Block Party again Saturdeay, April 28, when the popular street festival takes over Marion Avenue, the city’s Main Street. Hundreds of thousands of revelers over 30 years have attended the biggest and best street festival in Southwest Florida to enjoy the food, drink, live entertainment and celebrate life in Punta Gorda.

Best of all, it’s free, but donations are needed and gratefully accepted at six entry gates. Last year, patrons tossed nearly $19,000 into donation buckets at the entry gates in appreciation of the return of the Block Party and to help guarantee funding for this year’s celebration. Gates open at noon and bands play until 10 p.m. No pets, cans, bottles, coolers, skateboards or bikes.
