Royal Palm Marina’s “Doctor of the Docks” Mike Sternberg has ordered 500 pounds of shrimp for the Local Kiwanis Clubs’ 3rd Annual Shrimp Feast. This Saturday he expects to prepare 400 servings of peel ‘n’ eat shrimp, baked beans, coleslaw, hushpuppies and hot dogs.
“At our first shrimp feast we served 200, and every year it just gets better,” exclaimed Sternberg who is an expert at preparing tasty all-you-can eat shrimp. He began organizing shrimp feasts 30 years ago in Williamsburg, Va., where in 2007, more than 2,000 people enjoyed feasting on tasty shrimp boiled with “Capt. Mike’s” secret spices. After relocating to Florida three years ago, Sternberg, a retired optometrist who enjoys organizing community events, volunteered his services.
