‘Out of the Furnace’

The definition of “bleak,” according to, is “without hope or encouragement, depressing and dreary.” It’s also an accurate description of the film “Out of the Furnace.”

The movie takes place in and around Braddock, Pa., a town built around a once flourishing steel mill. Christian Bale plays Russell Baze, a good guy (sort of) who works in the mill as his world suddenly starts crashing down.
