Dutch playwright Jan de Hartog's "The Fourposter" about Agnes and Michael's journey from newlyweds to empty nesters continues to attract and delight audiences.

After all, couples whose marriages span 35 years or more must survive heartbreak and challenges, but how well do these marriages survive? That's a question worth pondering.
