Mark Kays, general manager of Kays, Ponger and Uselton Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, is a creature of habit when it comes to dining out. Every Friday evening, he and his wife Diane start their weekend on familiar turf at Amimoto Japanese Restaurant, in Punta Gorda.
Amimoto was established in 2000 by sushi chef Tony Manabe, who specializes in expertly preparing not only sushi, but a full menu of authentic Japanese cuisine. Of course, since Kays orders the same thing every Friday night, he hasn't yet fully explored those menu offerings.
