‘War and Peace” is a book for winter — too heavy in more ways than one for the beach.
Lighter fare is needed, especially when hauling coolers, umbrellas, beach towels and sunscreen. Area authors contributed greatly to this summer’s Cool reading list. The lightest is “Hope and Humor,” a tiny little volume of personal stories plus quotes from famous philosophers, collected by Edward Fanning IV, a Venice native.
