When the skies over Venice erupt in full color Friday, thank Sertoma and the City of Venice.

Sertoma Club of Venice members have pledged $10,000 annually toward the cost of the annual Independence Day fireworks display for the past 12 years. The city makes up the balance of the cost needed to pay for the display, which takes place at the South Jetty in Venice beginning at dusk (about 9 p.m.) July 4.
