Unless you have a real “dune buggy,” driving on most of Florida’s miles of sandy beaches is not a good idea.

Not so at Daytona, where you can put the top down on your convertible and drive along the shore on the hard-packed sand of “The World’s Most Famous Beach.” I have done it in my Tracker and even years earlier in an old Dodge station wagon.
