Aerial hog slaughter creates fear

The invasive feral-hog population is known for destroying crops and grass, natural habitat and other wildlife is an issue at Charlotte Harbor Preserve State Park.More than 50 feral hogs were recently shot and killed at the state park.

A helicopter appeared near the fence line of Carol Abarbanell’s Rotonda West home. A man with a long gun began shooting from it.

Scared and shocked, Abarbanell grabbed her binoculars. She watched in horror as the man fired and feral hogs below scattered.
