ENGLEWOOD — Englewood firefighters found themselves on the defense Thursday morning, fighting an intense fire at a machine shop on South McCall Road near West Dearborn Street.

One woman suffered serious smoke inhalation and was taken by ambulance to Englewood Community Hospital.
