PUNTA GORDA — Long-time city financial director Dave Drury is retiring from his position with Punta Gorda. To celebrate his more than 20-year career with the city, a luncheon was held in the city hall parking lot during the last council meeting. Members of the Punta Gorda Fire Department hauled out a grill and tables, cooking up burgers and hot dogs on-site for the occasion.

Drury said he was surprised by the luncheon. “I didn’t expect any of this,” he said.
