The Gulf Coast Community Foundation this week approved more than $4 million in grants — two of which will go to area organizations working to reduce homelessness in South Sarasota County and help local families in danger of becoming homeless.
“We are working closely with local nonprofits and municipalities to develop a systemic plan for reducing homelessness in our region,” Teri Hansen, president and CEO of the Foundation, said in a statement. “These two grants invest in proven work being done right now to help get people off the streets or keep them safe in their homes.”
