NORTH PORT — Before it was anywhere close to 5 p.m. Thursday, a line of costumed children and their parents already was stretching around North Port City Hall, ready to trick or treat around the building’s three decorated floors for Halloween.

The first floor, complete with an X-wing and a TIE fighter from “Star Wars,” was filled with characters from the various films, including Princess Leia, Darth Vader, Ewoks, Padmé Amidala, Yoda and more, including several Imperial Stormtroopers in full gear that looked straight out of the movies.
