Sarasota seeks source of Lamarque stench

NORTH PORT — Sarasota County School District officials insist that ongoing health concerns at Lamarque Elementary School are not tied to poisonous or defective drywall, and now are looking for other reasons for what they describe as “allergy-like symptoms” being experienced by staff and students.

District superintendent Lori White said during a Wednesday afternoon press conference that a toxicology expert from the University of South Florida is being brought in to investigate the possible sources of the problem.
