ENGLEWOOD — Personnel at Lemon Bay High School reported Tuesday that they are missing 21 Christmas trees from their tree sales lot. The school’s ROTC unit and Project Graduation received 130 trees on Nov. 26 to sell as a fundraising project. All 130 trees were accounted for when they were delivered. According to the report, the sales lot was closed Nov. 27 and Nov. 28. It was open for sales from Nov. 29 to Dec. 1.

When a secondary count was made of the trees Dec. 1, taking into account the trees that had been sold, ROTC and Project Graduation personnel found that 21 trees, valued at a total of $1,050, were missing from the lot. Deputies found no signs of forcible entry into the exterior fenced-in area. The trees had been in a tent inside the locked, fenced area. There were no witnesses immediately located. Anyone with information concerning this case is asked to please call the Sheriff’s Office at 941-639-2101, or Crime Stoppers at 800-780-TIPS (8477).
