NORTH PORT — As parents and staff await the full report from Dr. James McCluskey, the University of South Florida professor and toxicologist hired by the Sarasota County School District to investigate ill health claims at Lamarque Elementary School, one teacher is touting her own health survey conducted two years in a row that anonymously polled dozens of staff members.

D’Arcy Denis, who has worked for the district for 25 years, the majority in North Port, was not interviewed by McCluskey, who only spoke to nine staff members and visited Lamarque once as part of his agreement with the school. Lamarque has been plagued with a “sewer-like” or sulfur-type odor since it opened in 2006.
