NORTH PORT — The 5,771-acre McCall Ranch failed to sell Thursday at an auction that drew bidders from as far away as New York and California, falling short by $100,000 of the $14 million minimum price for the property.

According to William Bone, from the Gadsden, Ala.-based National Auction Group, none of the 13 registered bidders reached the $14 million threshold, and now the company has a week to unload the property before it reverts back to creditors.
