SARASOTA COUNTY — A revised report on the Sarasota 2050 housing plan says the fiscal neutrality element of the plan — which states that builders pay the full costs of all public facilities and services that are required to support the development — is about to undergo some changes aimed at kick-starting the 12-year old plan.
Sarasota 2050 was adopted in 2002 as part of the county’s comprehensive plan. It’s designed to encourage housing that meets low-impact standards — and discourage urban sprawl — outside of municipal areas that are mainly east of Interstate 75.
