Emmy and Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist Anthony Suau spent nearly two weeks last year in Punta Gorda interviewing farmers for his new documentary “Organic Rising,” which explores the growing organic farm movement in the U.S. Here, workers from Lady Moon Farms on Bermont Road are shown picking organic vegetables. “(Initially) the idea was to make a short film. But it was obvious to me that the story itself was much, much larger, and that the people involved in the story were far more interesting,” Suau said. “I had basically stumbled upon a nationwide movement that was mounting very, very quickly.”

“I had lived in France for 20 years, and when I moved back to the United States in 2008, I quickly recognized the fact that the food in the country was far different than what it was when I left,” Suau said.
